Dwellings for discerning birds!

,Watching birds is a favorite activity here on Hound Hill. Several feeders and many flowers with seeds help to attract our feathered friends. I have always loved birdhouses, not just to house birds, but also as sculpture for the garden. I had purchased many over the years and loved finding the perfect spot for them on our land.

The first house I made was in 2020 for the top of the deck post. That house has had a nest in it every year. In 2022 it was inhabited by tree swallows and it was so wonderful to watch the Mom and Dad share in caring for their babies. I made this house with a hinge and easy to open for the removal of old nests and that has become a feature of all the houses I have made since that fist one.

I discovered that making birdhouses was something I really enjoyed doing and went on to make some to put on stumps that we had cut down on our property. Currently there are 10 stump houses here on Hound Hill and they add so much interest to the gardens and landscape. Friends soon began requesting them for stumps on their land. A few of them are pictured below.
Building bird dwellings has turning into a tiny business and I will start to sell in some local shops and galleries. I also wanted to give out of the area friends the opportunity to see what I'm up to and buy directly from me via this site.

Pictured below are houses that are currently available. Please email me lynn@gonecountry.me if you are interested in making a purchase. Prices are in the descriptive caption under the photos.

Post & Stump Birdhouses

Post and stump houses are made to fit over or on top of a post or stump. They are decorated front and back and occasionally on all four sides. All are hinged to open easily with a clasp or removal of one screw.

Birdhouses to hang on a wall or fence.
